MEET MELISSA SOBEL

Make every experience mean something—which is 1/2 the story of how MEEMS was born. What started as my little brother’s attempt at saying Melissa quickly became “Meems,” a name that’s stayed with me ever since. It is now both a personal belief and how I approach my work. My experience is deeply rooted in movement, connection, and emotion, creating images that feel as powerful as the moments themselves. Before stepping behind the camera, I spent years as a professional dancer, a background that deeply shapes how I see and capture movement, confidence, and expression.

I’m also a mom of three amazing kiddos, which means I understand just how fleeting these seasons are—and how important it is to celebrate them fully. I’m passionate about creating experiences where people feel seen, confident, and celebrated for exactly who they are and how they see themselves. Every session is designed with intention, energy, and heart—because when something matters, it should be remembered beautifully.
